"We wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Diamondhead ASPCA of Mississippi for their generous support of the Hancock County Animal Center.  To date, this group has donated over $3,000.00 to the Center.
These funds were contributed through "In Memory Gifts", Brick donations, and various individual donations to the Diamondhead ASPCA for the Hancock County Animal Center.

The group is run by Francis Pike, Kim Lunde, and Mary Sinders Bouchar.  They are a dedicated group of individual who are helping build the new center in whatever way they can. At the same time they are busy
rescuing animals, finding homes for animals, along with rebuilding their own lives and homes.

Our commitment is to help people like this in the area who are anxiously waiting to see the Center get built. These community leaders are working hard to give the animals of Hancock County a safe environment where they can live and thrive as they wait to be adopted.

If anyone has any animal stories that they would like to share from Mississippi please email your comments to us.

Thompson Networks Offers Telephone Infrastructure Grants to Support Bucks-Mont Katrina Relief Efforts

DOYLESTOWN, Pennsylvania (April 3, 2007) – Thompson Networks, a Doylestown-based provider of voice, data and wireless solutions to businesses within the tri-state area, announced today that it has partnered with its telephone equipment supplier, ESI, to offer five $10,000 telephone & voicemail system grants to qualifying 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations based in hurricane-ravaged Hancock County, Mississippi as a part of the ongoing Bucks-Mont Katrina Relief efforts.  The United Way of Bucks County assisted Thompson Networks in writing the grant application, which can be accessed by visiting United Way’s Web site at www.uwbucks.org.  The award announcements will be made by May 15, 2007 and all equipment will be delivered and installed by the end of 2007.

In early 2007, Dave Thompson, President of Thompson Networks, began investigating what had been donated from a telecommunications standpoint to organizations that had been negatively impacted by Hurricane Katrina.  Thompson learned that there had not been any substantial gifts of telephone systems and immediately joined forces with Bucks-Mont Katrina Relief to fulfill the need.

Said Thompson, “Our goal is to strengthen the operations of the nonprofit organizations in Hancock County so that they can continue to help the local children and families in need.”  When the United Way of Bucks County learned about Thompson Networks’ plan, it offered to help write the grant and facilitate the application process.

Celebrating 25 years in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Thompson Networks provides customized voice and data solutions to help businesses of all sizes improve and facilitate communications with their customers, employees and the community.  The company is a “one-stop” business resource by offering telephone & voice mail systems, data services, network cabling & design and Sprint wireless solutions.

Animal Center Project Ground Breaking March 13,2007-Update

Hello Everyone:

I have returned from the Groundbreaking for the Animal Center in Hancock County.  The ceremony went GREAT!!!!  There was so much interest and excitment from everyone about the new center.  As you can see by the pictures attached there were a lot of people who came out for the event and some even brought their dogs. Maureen (aka "the cat") and myself (aka "Scooby) had some fun in our costumes.  The faces of everyone when they saw us was priceless.  The other members of the Groundbreaking team are Major Diaz of the Salvation Army; Lisa Cowand, County Supervisor and Bill Eastburn Co-Chairman of the Bucks-Mont Katrina Project. During this visit, I also heard  more stories from people who did not leave their animals and weathered the storms with them.  Some of them were very touching and the couples were still very emotional about it. As they stated to me, this is a much needed facility to bring to the area and there was nothing but appreciation for what we are doing. Again, thank you for everyone's support and we will keep you updated as we move forward.

Sincerely,

Debbie Suto
